Oliver John Reilly, 99, Of Red Hook

RED HOOK, N.Y. --- Oliver John “Red” Reilly, a longtime Red Hook resident, died Sunday, Feb. 26 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck. He was 99.

A Brooklyn native, Reilly was the son of the late Andrew and Ella (Recker) Reilly.

His wife, Mary “May” Ryan Patterson, died in 2003. Their son, Lance Corporal William Raymond Reilly, USMC, died while fighting in Vietnam in 1966.

Reilly was an NYPD officer for 20 years. He was later employed by P&S Construction and had most recently worked for Williams Lumber where he was affectionately known as “Uncle Ollie.”

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Reilly of Clinton Corners; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jay Kane of Palm Desert, Calif.; his grandchildren, Jill Reilly and her wife, Beth Humphrey; Jason Reilly, Alexandra Drozda and her husband, Brian; and Natasha Kane.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2 at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 3, at St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook. 7411 South Broadway, Red Hook.

Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook, 7370 South Broadway, Red Hook.
